On a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer, use the Google Maps site to update your home address. Next to "Home" or "Work," tap More Change icon. How to change your home address on iPhone or Android

All you need to do is type in your new address, then click Save. Now Google will remember where you live to help you navigate next time. To change the address, tap the three-dot icon to the right of your home or work address and tap Edit.

Understand Google Maps app features

Clear the current address, type in your new one, and tap Save. Thankfully, you can blur your house via either app, making them less visible to other users. And doing so is actually surprisingly quick and easy. Then, you just have to choose how long you want to share your location and then select the person that you want to share it with.

Manage your privacy settings

To add an address to the Map, please enter your address into the search bar of the Map. If your address doesn't show fully, remove any house numbers or apartment numbers and the marker should locate you in the middle of the road. Try to provide as much accurate information as possible when you add yourself to Google Maps. This will attract more potential customers and increase your local business marketing by creating brand awareness about your business.

If an address is set, all you need to do is save for further use, so it guides you from your house or workplace. This means you won’t have to manually type in your address to find your way. Hit the Submit button after you have provided the information that you think is suitable for your listing.

You'll see an option for Location Sharing. Tap 'share location' and ensure Maps has been given access to your contacts by pressing 'allow'. You can also submit corrections to roads and places, manage your Maps profile, and find your contribution views and impact. Features like Location sharing, Timeline, and offline maps are available in the top right, in the profile picture or initial. Speed limits shown in Maps are for informational use only. Make sure to confirm speed limits with the posted traffic signs.

Social login does not work in incognito and private browsers. Please log in with your username or email to continue. Google Maps allows you to store your home address, so you don’t have to keep typing the address. When you’re in an unfamiliar location and you’re not sure how to navigate, the first thing you’d want to do is find your way home. You can also customize the Home icon to your liking.

Claim or create your Business Profile on Google

Drag this icon onto the road in front of your home. Businesses looking for potential customers can see if your house needs new windows, doors, or external work to try and target you with their marketing efforts. Then, repeat the process we highlighted in the previous section above for setting your home and work address via the mobile option. Type the name of the location you want to set as your home address in the address field. You might want to type your city or province name for a broader search coverage.
